Home...

I made it back to Southampton in one piece (I think there's a bit of me on the M1 (the sane part)), just in time to start work at my parents restaurant (I work as a waiter/kitchen staff) . Would have been back earlier to get my DDR(Dancing Stage) fix, but the ended up wasting too much time on house of the dead 4 at some service station >.<. However, since I've been back, I've been working everyday for the past week (parents ask me to, so I can't really say no) and not really had much time to myself. It's so tiring working 11am-midnight everyday, there's so much standing and I'm usually knackered at the end of the day. It's really weird living on someone else's schedule again, but I can't really complain since they're actually paying me for helping out now (I'm no longer a free slave worker, yay).

Just feel slightly depressed at the moment though (don't think listening to Coldplay helped), because today(Saturday) I finished my last-ever shift at the restaurant. While I was at uni, parents decided it was best to close the restaurant and start anew somewhere else in town. Been spending most of the week packing stuff bit by bit (while trying to serve customers, its a hectic combination), but theres just so much of it and so little time (got to get it all packed for Christmas Eve). We've had the restaurant in the family for more than 20 years now (it opened pretty much when I was born, give or take a couple of days), parents and various uncles started it from scratch, but my parents run it now. There's just so much family history and heritage in the place, plus the boxes are so bloody heavy, who would have thought little slices of memories would weigh a tonne!

Managed to get a couple of games of DDR (Dancing Stage) in earlier on in the week. Completed a 8 footer song ('A' by dj Amano) on expert doubles, so it sorta started on a high. Still can't complete Max 300 (again... did it once, the damn 10 footer) or Xepher on doubles yet (9 footer with weird ass timing). Havn't played on it for 3 month's, so I'm a bit rusty on the old 8 arrows.

Knee's started to play up again, been hurting a lot more lately. Hopefully it's more due to the long hours spent standing (which I won't be doing till January, when the new place is up & running) and the carrying of heavy large boxes, then the dance machine (I hope...). Hopefully it'll get better soon so I can attempt stupidly hard songs and actually be able to do a proper gym workout.

I've spent near enough 2 hours writing this post (takes so long to write). There's less than 24 hours till Christmas and I've got more of stuff to pack and move tommorrow (Yay, more Heavy boxes >.<) as well as preperations for the christmas get-together.

Merry Christmas to you all, drink and be merry.

Home Day

Today is going home day (woo!) and John Lennon's "imagine" (6th most amazing british single?!) is on tv.

I'm fully packed and ready to leave the sunny(?) port town of hull and go back to good ol' boring Southampton (straight into the arcade) >:). Big Dave's still faffing around with his packing with the occasional grunt when he's dragging something "heavy" down the stairs. Hmm, maybe I should help him, lol.

Time to lock and load for the journey back :) Off goes the lappy and I want to wish everyone visiting this blog, if anyone ever does, a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year (full of booze and fun filled frolics).

>.<

Woke up today feeling like absolute shit. Night out + staying up late doesn't mix well at all. I think I got up at 3-4, the sun was starting to go down (and I swear I could hear wolves howling).

Just came back from a Christmas party thing at Matt's and Hannah's. Hannah decided to cook (god help us all) a Christmas dinner, so I went round with the Daves'. She did the whole full on thing, with starters (mince pies, cocktails), mains (countless vegetables, turkey) and pudding (THE 'PUD', so dense and rich, that custard is used to make it even richer), oh and alcohol (champagne, vodka). I'm really surprised that she managed to pull it all off 'by herself'. It was a great meal (I'm still alive after it, BONUS), but why the Yorkshire puds and parsnips should come 20 minutes after the turkeys gone and everyone's full is besides me. There was a general surprise when we found out that the crackers didn't contain the age-old chicken joke (or any joke involving chickens for that matter), so naturally Moff and Hannah decided to have the squirt-each-other-with-whatever-smells-the-worst fight to commemorate the event.

I think those two went to karaoke night at sanctuary afterwards (smelling of Fabreze, some mixture of purfume (CK, for women not just men, because she's maybe worth it (or something...)) and of course alcohol), whereas I've come home to spend the night on the sofa watching 'firefly'. Still feel like shit, but satisfied :)

The beautiful game?

Met up with the guys today to play footy, and I'm so bad at it it's funny! Haven't played it since College(like about 2 years ago) and even then I wasn't any good. We were meant to play on a 3g pitch, but it was booked so we played on the grass instead. It was really muddy and I stupidly forgot my boot's so I was sliding all over the place. Jay Jay bought shirts with him, so we had a proper game(I think it was 9v9, Paddy came later and Pinky went home early feeling ill). It was a great game considering it was stupidly windy and absolutely freezing and we only lost by a few goals.

Got a Comsoc christmas dinner to look forward to later tonight :)

12 Days, Starts Now!

It's official! There 12 days till Christmas!
I'm not sure if I'm happy/sad about going home for christmas, but I thought I'd just post a little something to cheer everyone up with (Click Me!).

12 days left :) Let the good times roll.

Wayhay!

Finished my last course related thing today. Had to do the presentation for my group project (only found out that I had to do it yesterday night). I'm free :), well lecture wise anyway. Free to spend my time lazing around the house doing nothing.

All I've got now is Comsoc dinner and game of footy(soccer) tomorrow.

Hate, Mondays.

I'm feeling so tired its unbelievable. I think I've somehow managed to bugger up my knee again, lol.

Had 2 exams this morning, Advanced programming and AI. Both didn't seem to go too badly, even though I only did 30 minutes revision beforehand. I'll probably find it's going to come back and bite my ass though.

Yesterday's game went well, although we didn't really do too good score-wise (47-nil). Played both O&D line again and didn't think I did too badly, although I did do a really stupid thing. I was playing on the O-line, trying to block someone, failed badly and spun round to try to stop him. Ended up running face first into the running back and caused him to get sacked (Oops >.<). Really need to learn to play my position properly and probably should be in the gym more often. Went and did the whole Gardners > Piper > Hockney's thing after the game. I think Hockney's is fast becoming one of the places to go (although it's really expensive there). Alco-mo-hol flowed and people seemed to just have a great time. I think Frosty managed to pull the new girl (Jane, Jade, something like that).

Can't wait until after Christmas holidays, apparently we have 4 easier matches. Hopefully I won't keep doing stupid mistakes.

Game On!

Got a American Football game today against the Celtics. Hope we win, it'd be a nice change. It looks as if it's going to be raining and really windy(a great combination of weather right before the game), but my rooms still stupidly hot (I've gotta learn how to turn this damn heating down).
I think my washing machine is broken, because my jersey looks slightly yellow (washed the bastard twice!), but my housemate assured me it was white (>.<). Hope he's right though, else I'd need to go get some bleach or something.

Just got to get brekkie(Peanut Butter and 'Jelly' Toast and a mug of tea, yum) and pack my kit. Wish me luck :P

Wii Launch Day: Dec 8th

Attended a event at uni on Friday for the launch of the Nintendo Wii! The computer science department went and got 2 for launch and rigged them up to a HUGE projector screen.

Got to have a play on Wii: Sports, Wii: Play and Red Steel. All the games were great on multi player, but Red Steel would have worked better without split screens. The Wii is so damn good looking and the controller just cries out, "throw mii at the TV" (like some Americans have already gone and done).

Ah, the controller. Looks like a TV remote, works like an absolute dream, you can point swing, tilt, slap and smack with the thing, oh and aim at someone's head all with incredible precision. I want a Wii now!

Also Rob Miles went and bought Guitar Hero and I jammed on that too.

All this when coupled with free food and drinks, made it an excellent launch event. Viva la Wii!

The Beginning

Welcome to my blog about me and my life at university and beyond.
It'll probably be incredibly boring, but what the hell, I'll try to update it as often as I can.

Peace for now >:)
